The Mediation Act 2017 was commenced on 1 January 2018. The act imposes new obligations on solicitors and:
“As you are aware we have been instructed by the Government to practice social distancing and to work from home where possible in these unprecedented times. In light of this we are exploring the steps necessary to ensure an uninterrupted service to our clients and colleagues.
Our business remains in operation full time and we are fortunate to have the IT systems in place to allow our team to work remotely. We will be using this capability over the coming weeks to operate the majority of our team remotely on a full time basis with a small staffing of the office on a part time basis only as necessary.
Therefore, we request that all communications are sent to us electronically so that we would be in a position to receive and respond to same.
For the moment we are suspending face to face meetings and will endeavour to replace these with telephone calls and emails.
We trust that you will appreciate that during this period some services may take longer than usual to provide but we will endeavour to provide as uninterrupted service as possible.
Thank you for your cooperation.”
